Ask the Herbalist / Phone & Office Consultation

For more complex health concerns, Board Certified Clinical Herbalist Valerie Blankenship offers private herbal consultations in her office or by phone. Cost of the initial consultation is $110. Initial appointments generally run 90 minutes. Follow-ups typically take around 45 minutes and are $45. We also offer a "mini" consultation, which is appropriate when a client is suffering from one relatively simple issue, such as a spider bite, candida, asthma, etc. This consult is $60 and runs up to 45 minutes. Consults are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10 am and 5 pm and held at 108 E. Cheyenne Road in Colorado Springs. Long Distance phone consultations are available as well. Valerie's background: Valerie has over 19 years experience in the herbal field. She holds three certifications from Wild Rose College, David Hoffmann's Therapeutic Herbalism program and The School of Natural Healing. She is Board Certified through The American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She attends topical herbal intensives yearly through The American Herbalists Guild and Naturopathic Colleges and is a member in good standing of the American Herbalist's Guild.

What to expect during the consultation: After reviewing your detailed intake form, Valerie conducts a thorough interview with
you to uncover health history and lifestyle details. She also
gathers information to assess all bodily systems for excesses and deficiencies. She will then design specialized formulations and
make recommendations for supplements and dietary changes.

Preparing your formulas:

At Sage Woman Herbs, we have an herbal pharmacy containing over 300 herbal tinctures and bulk herbs. All special blends designed for you will be prepared on site, usually the same day.

Photos: If a photo is provided, she will also conduct a tongue, nail and face analysis. If providing photos, please provide at least one of you in natural light, showing your skin coloring, and one of a close up of your entire tongue, which should fill the entire screen if possible.

1 1/2 hours is set aside for the Initial Consultation. Should you need additional time with the herbalist, you will be advised and charged accordingly. Special discounts are given for most products listed on your program on the day of your initial consultation, and at each followup appointment.

Consultations / Mini Consultation

 $60.00
A mini consultation is a 45 minute appointment. This is useful for those who are on a limited budget or have one main health issue to address. Complex health issues, such as hepatitis or cancer, cannot be covered in this brief appointment. No discounts apply.

Consultations / Followup

 $45.00
Followups are generally 45 minutes. Should you need additional time with the herbalist, you will be advised and charged accordingly. Followup appointments are an important part of the health program. Modifications to the herbal formulas, dosage, and other crucial adjustments are made to your protocol at that time. Followup frequency depends upon your specific needs, but typically range from every 1-3 months until the issue is resolved.
