Dear Students, at Sage Consulting & Apothecary, we are responding to the Corona Virus situation as it unfolds. It has recently become obvious that offering the 2020 Herbal Foundations Program is not going to be prudent. Therefore, we want you to know that we appreciate you and your interest in our exciting program and we look forward to seeing you next year.
For those of you who have applied for a scholarship, we will be reviewing the applications - there are so many good ones! - and we will be announcing the winner on the 16th which will be transferable to next year's program.
We are so sorry for any inconvenience and we hope to be able to offer some weekend programs in the summer when all of this is behind us.
ANNOUNCEMENT: WE HAVE EXTENDED THE DEADLINE TO MARCH 16TH, 2020! PLEASE EMAIL YOUR ESSAY TO [email protected] AND FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW TO APPLY.
Sage Consulting & Apothecary is proud to announce our first Herbal Foundations Program scholarship!
Enter the essay contest to tell us why you want to become an herbalist. We want to hear your story and how this program could help you further your passion for herbalism, natural healing, and holistic healthcare.
The recipient of the scholarship will receive $1,000 towards their spot in the intensive, nine month certification program. The program was designed for those who aim to pursue in-depth knowledge, education, and practice within the world of clinical herbalism.
In our 13th year, this program provides a strong foundation for individuals interested in herbal and holistic medicine to take care of themselves and their families naturally, as well as those who wish to begin a career in this field. Classes are led by clinical herbalist Valerie Blankenship, RH (AHG), developer of the program and a clinical herbalist and formulator with over 30 years of experience. She is the owner of Sage Consulting & Apothecary, operating for over 30 years in Colorado Springs. She is joined by a faculty of 6 dynamic herbalists and educators with over 100 years of combined herbal experience!
Classes will be held between April 5th and October 11th, meeting Sundays at Sage Consulting & Apothecary in Colorado Springs as well as various field trip locations throughout El Paso and Teller County. Students will engage, interact, and learn how to treat the body systems, to identify herbs in the field, to make herbal preparations, fermentation skills, herbal gardening, processing and a lot more.
The Sage Herbal Foundations Program Scholarship will award $1,000 towards tuition for the 2020 program. To apply for the scholarship, please craft a 750 - 1,000 word essay describing why you want to be an herbalist. Why are you drawn to holistic healthcare? How has herbal medicine impacted your life? Why do you need this scholarship, and why are you deserving of it? We want to hear your and your zeal for natural healing. We will choose a recipient based on their eligibility for the program, and their passion for this industry.
