As of July 1, 2014, our Kudzu root tincture is prepared using a slightly different (and superior) method. Our new product has a stronger taste and a milky white color, an expression of the high mucilage content in Kudzu root.
The new Kudzu is excellent quality and works just as well or better than the previous tincture. They each have a slightly different viscosity and a there is a difference in color. We have several companies that we buy from which explains the difference in the way they are tinctured. We typically have not tinctured this herb ourselves, due to the high mucilage content, which causes problems for us as we do not have the high-powered equipment necessary to press it.
Our Pueraria lobata root tincture is prepared using corn alcohol and filtered water, at an 8:1 ratio.
The finished product contains 25% alcohol and 10% glycerine added after extraction.
