Valerie is a guest speaker at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism in Boulder and UCCS at the Bethel School of Nursing. Valerie loves sharing her knowledge, and her teaching approach is generous. Her rich experiences from the clinic provide a deeper understanding of the use of both local and planetary herbs.
She holds certifications from Wild Rose College, David Hoffmann’s Therapeutic Herbalism program and The School of Natural Healing. She attends topical herbal intensives yearly through The American Herbalists Guild and Naturopathic Colleges and is a member of the American Herbalist’s Guild.
She has completed intensive training in integrative holistic treatments with herbal clinician Donald Yance, through his ECLECTIC TRIPHASIC™ MEDICAL SYSTEM (ETMS).
Her clinical approach is anchored in Vitalism, a tradition that respects the body’s innate ability to heal itself if given the proper physical, spiritual and mental nourishment. In the clinic, she employs the Western Constitutional Assessment technique developed by Michael Moore, a method which focuses on the unique constitution and organ state of each client, as well as the energetics of individual herbs and formulations.
Care is given to ensure clients are educated regarding the importance of restoring and maintaining a health microbiome in order to achieve proper absorption of nutrients. Careful attention is given to strengthening weakened organ systems. Nutrition always receives top priority, for without adequate nutrition, wellness can never be achieved.
