Nauclea latifolia Smith (Rubiacea) is a small tree, found in tropical areas in Africa. It is used in traditional medicine to treat malaria, epilepsy, and anxiety. It is also used traditionally as a powerful analgesic for pain and fever. The root of Nauclea latifolia is the preferred part of the plant used in Cameroonian traditional medicine for treating pain and fever, including intermittent fevers.
From Stephen Buhner: “this is an herb i have been interested in for a long time, Nauclea latifolia, from South Africa. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic and very specific for malaria and Babesia. It has a long history of use in southern Africa and it appears to be very effective.”
