SUGGESTED USE:
May be used to make a soak, compress or pack for sore hands, feet, muscles and limbs. Soak or fomentation Recipe: simmer 3 heaping tablespoons in a muslin bag in 1/2 gallon of water for 20 minutes. Use: Soak feet or hands in soak or dip a clean cloth into the tea and apply to affected area as a compress. Repeat several applications as needed. Pack Recipe: fill a muslin bag with root and place in 1 cup of water just off the boil. Allow to steep for 15 minutes. Use: when cool enough to handle, squeeze out bag and place on affected area until it cools. Repeat several times as needed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Not for internal use. Make sure that the wound is not a deep puncture wound such as a hole. Because Comfrey causes rapid wound healing, make sure the wound is clean of any dirt before applying Comfrey.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
The name Comfrey is derived from the Latin con ferva, "with strength." The genus name, Symphytum, derives from the Greek symphytis, "grown together," and phyton, "plant."
