Our tallow comes from 100% grass-fed and grass-finished cattle, born and raised in the USA and locally sourced from All Natural Homestead Beef in LaSalle, Colorado. We dry-render it slowly at low temperatures to preserve its natural purity and nutrient-rich qualities, and package it in amber glass jars to protect against light and oxidation.

Why doesn’t Eleos use seed oils to blend with tallow?
Most skincare brands mix tallow with seed oils to create a softer, whipped consistency. But at Eleos, we avoid industrial seed oils because research shows they are highly unstable, prone to oxidation, and can create inflammatory compounds in the body. Experts like Dr. Paul Saladino have also highlighted how the high linoleic acid content in seed oils (like sunflower, safflower, soybean, and canola) can drive oxidative stress, inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction over time.
Instead of seed oils, Eleos uses SOFT tallow—a naturally creamier form of grass-fed beef fat. By combining this with our house-rendered suet tallow, we achieve the same luxurious whipped texture without compromising purity or stability. The result is a moisturizer that stays true to our philosophy: deeply nourishing, free of rancid oils, and safe for long-term use.
How should I store my Eleos products?
Store Eleos products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their freshness and effectiveness. Our body butter comes in amber glass jars, which provide UV protection, shielding antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids from degradation. These jars also prevent exposure to heat, air, and moisture, preserving the integrity of sensitive ingredients like tallow and mango butter.
